BGP Opens Big Ampheatre in Valley

Bill Graham dominated concert promotion in the Sacramento region
from the late 70s to after 2000.  But, for most of that time, the shows
were in rented venues.  BGP set out to build a first class outdoor
venue like the successful Shoreline Ampheatre.  The efforts were
thwarted in nearly every community near the downtown area, so
a patch of farmland near Marysville became the Sacramento Valley
Amphitheatre.  Good sound.  Nice set-up.  Terrible drive.  Lots of
dust.  Live Nation owns it now but seldom produces any posters.
