We have a permanent home!

The Sacramento Rock and Radio Museum collection has found a permanent home at the Sac State Special Collections Library. The people there are VERY excited about all the possibilities. There will be exhibits from the collection at various locations around town. Watch for announcements. Plus, the pieces will be properly cared for and preserved. And, CSUS students can help make the collection grow as it tells the unending tale about music in Sacramento and Davis. Questions: sacrockmuseum@gmail.com

Can you spare some cash for acquisition?
Rock and Roll sneaked on to a few Sacramento area radio playlists in
the mid-50's, but it wasn't until the early 60's that the town had two
AM-Top 40 stations battling for supremacy among the Baby
Boomer kids.  KROY and KXOA then KZAP and KSFM helped to
keep the Memorial Auditorium, Governors Hall, Freeborn Hall,
and dozens of small venues rocking.  Radio has changed,
venues have changed, acts have changed.  The desire to party to
a strong beat has not changed.

The Sacramento Rock and Radio Museum is a permanent exhibit of more than 3000 posters, handbills, LP's, CDs, 45s, T-shirts and other bits of memorbilia that help tell the continuing story of Rock Music in Sacramento and Davis from the 1950s to now.
