Top 40 Stations help bring the Brits to Sacramento

KROY and KXOA often teamed up with local promoters to bring
big name acts over from England.  Sometimes, they'd play here and
not make a stop in San Francisco.  The Rolling Stones played the night
after their first Ed Sullivan appearance.  We were also visited by the
Searchers (the first to come to town) the Hollies, the Kinks, the Who,
the Animals and many more.  The museum has posters, handbills,
news articles photos and playlists from this era as evidence of all the
fantastic shows.
