Big shows in Marysville, small ones at Marilyn's,
Harlow's, the Grove, the Boardwalk, the Crest

Picture
The new millennium was a kind of

golden age for Sacramento-area rock

bands.  When a record deal still meant

something, big labels gave support to

Cake, Jackie Greene, Def Tones, Papa

Roach, Zoppi, and Oleander.  BGP sold

and eventually was replaced by Live

Nation.  Big shows came, but many of

them were Pop, R&B and Hip Hop.  The

club scene was ever-changing, and several

poster artists began creating interesting,

colorful, original work that was hung in

store windows and sold at shows.
